I'm a film photographer based in southwest Colorado. Although I've been creating images for clients like you since I was 14 (photo was my very first job!), most of my photographic training has been in the documentary (photojournalism) and commercial fashion space. Because of this, I bring an artful yet authentic edge to all of my work at Sapphire.
The magic of film, and why I shoot it.
I first learned photography on a digital camera. Over the years, I began to feel jaded by the hours spent sorting through and editing thousands of image files, hunched over and staring at a computer screen. Each image was *too* crisp, with no sense of value or character.
But then I found film, and I quickly fell in love. The inability to see previews of images while shooting pushed me to improve my technical ability, all while feeling more connected to my sense of creativity and presence with you, the subject.
